Reverb14 Day 8: Connections

Dear friends,

Today's prompt and image come from Mississippi-based writer and photographer Jen Allen.
Jen writes:

The hectic pace of our lives can make it difficult to remain connected to the things and the people that matter the most to us. We get wrapped up in our work or our busyness and connection falls by the wayside.

How have you created and/or sustained connections in your life this year?

I'm loving these prompts!  Yahoo for connections and as I breath in this question in I feel so lucky and grateful.

I love to connect through hugs, stories, movement and play!

One of the ways I've created connections this year is through a weekly meeting I facilitate called Manifesting Mondays.

A group of ladies and I meet on Monday morning for an hour and we chat about what we want to create this week.  We check in with each other about what happened the week before and if we met our goals, is additional help needed, etc.

It's a delightful hour where we have a cup of tea/coffee, sometimes breakfast and get motivated to start our week!

I create connections through hosting women's retreats that you can read about here:Creating a Journey or here: Creating a Divine Time.

I also participate in a group called the Daily Creative Practice which is amazing and connects me to talented, creative people who inspire me to create!

I love this card on connection It was given to us 20 years ago when Joe & I got married

As you know this year has also been full of  InterPlay Connections which are enriching my life in amazing ways - deep gratitude.

I realized as I'm writing this blog that one of the ways I connect and have been connecting for over 15 years is with morning prayers.  I am usually up before the sun and at sunrise I stop and connect with Mother Earth, the Universe, God and send prayers to my family, my friends, my "sisters" whom I've retreated with for years and anyone that is on our prayer web.  It is a powerful way to connect and I am thankful to my teacher Glenda at Earthsprings for getting me in this practice.

Wrapping you around with infinite love and connections,

Christine

P.S.

One of my favorite ornaments that hangs on my tree - it's from the ceramics period when I was growing up...

  1. Ohhhhh! Do you know Charlotte Diamond's song "Four Hugs a Day?" It's wonderful. Here's the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TkhBgmGUo7k
I sure hope it works. Otherwise simply google - Four hugs a day and it will pop up. As a side note - her son worked on my house a few years ago. Such a humble guy. We were having lunch and somehow we got around to me asking him what his mom did. His reply? "She writes songs." Wow. Mr. Humble. I love that.

  4. I love the connections you have created! I can't wait until I'm at a point and place in my life where I can do those kinds of things. I was just talking to a friend this evening about how much I missed her - we live about an hour apart but I haven't seen her in about 6 months. Our lives are too busy, and I just want to slow down and breathe together.

Thank you for a lovely post!

    1. Thanks for stopping by Jen. I feel you on the too busy part. Had a chance to just breath with several friends at a mindfulness workshop this weekend and I was so refreshed after 15 min of this it was incredible!

    1. Elda- the 12 a day is a little intimidating to me! If I get 3 really good ones a day I know it makes a difference so my goal is to bump my numbers up this year ;)

  6. Love that thought about hugs, that you can't give one without getting one. Never thought about it this way. It sounds like you've created amazing connections this year.
