I Love getting snail mail :)

Tuesday with snow falling - the mail truck delivered!

This is the beautiful card my friend Cynthia sent me as encouragement in my new business and in celebration of my Website being up (not finished but live).  I'm a little under the weather tonight from a sledding accident today - more about that tomorrow.

Peace,

Christine

Creating a great week

The week started out beautifully.  I was able to get some much needed rest Sunday night and started off Monday with a morning yoga routine, flylady and a good morning with the girls.  During the early high school carpool it was obvious that it was going to be a good sunrise and since a winter storm watch was predicted for tues/wed I decided to take a moment and pause and watch the sunrise on the way back home.

Monday right before Sunrise - Saying my prayers and giving thanks

Not the best location (the beach would have for sure been better)
I met with my Manifesting Monday's group to outline the week and set some goals and the big one for Monday was blessing the house :) and getting it back in shape after mom was gone for the weekend - We are in the process of buying our home we've lived in for almost 7 years - and yesterday we submitted the application for pre-approval - any good thoughts, prayers sent this way would be appreciated!

One of the fun projects was adding a beautiful card to my alter that +Hallelujah Truth  made for me.
Another view of her singing Hallelujah!
One of the oopsies of yesterday I found this morning in the trash - evidently the mug I got for Sammie's baby shower (12 years ago) broke - so a salvaged it from the trash so I can use it for a mosaic or another art project - it's too precious to go to the dump!

Uh-Oh

This is Sammie's Ocean floor project - carved out of styrofoam and she painted and hand sculpted the critters out of clay - It's due Friday and she completed it on Monday!

I hope everyone has a fabulous week - my soul is so happy I'm back to writing/blogging.

Hugs,

Christine

Walking the Labyrinth

This time yesterday morning I was snuggled up on a futon sleeping in a friend's meditation room.  We were gathered for the first Life Practice weekend of InterPlay in Atlanta.  I had set my alarm for 7:30am so I could be up in time to make it back to the Clubhouse where out workshop was happening. At 7:00am the birds woke me up with beautiful singing as they greeted the twilight.  I got up to go to the bathroom and quickly got back into my warm comfy bed thinking yeah I have 30 more minutes.  As I lay my head down I heard - "Go walk the Labyrinth."  Next door to Ella and Louis' house they had created a beautiful Labyrinth, with friends, which they had invited us to walk

The entrance to the Labyrinth and I love that I can see my friend's house in this picture

On the first outside loop as I come around the sun is rising to greet me

Another view to show the size of this beautiful Labyrinth
I have many insights that came to me as I took this sunrise walk.  I may come back and share them soon- for now it's off to carpool and I'm going to hit publish :)

Namaste,

Christine

Creating a Great Saturday

What a terrific day!!!

Started the morning off with my friend Ellen and lifting at the Y - we squatted, did bench presses and barbell rows - I say this so you know we worked our arms.

Went directly from there to Zumba down the hall with Joe.  Julie (one of our favorites) was the instructor and boy was it a great workout that included a lot of arm work - noodles, I tell you, my arms are noodles :)

Quickly came home and took a quick shower to head off to the Berkeley Lake Chapel (a couple of miles down the road)  to attend a Cognitively Based Compassion Training Introduction and get to experience the delightful Peace Dance facilitated by Anahata Iradah.

One of the handouts from the meeting today - great stuff!

I came home to cook and eat a delightful meal with the family -

So google - Paleo Mom Shrimp Curry Cabbage and the recipe is

Gautreaux Gang tested and two thumbs up!!!

My daily creative practice was to do a quick watercolor for the

granddaughter of a DCP member who was under the weather on

her birthday and her sweet grandmother asked us to all make

some art for her :)

My daily creative practice for today

Finished the night at the neighborhood book club where  we

talked about "The No. I Ladies' Detective Agency" by Alexander

McCall Smith.

Wishing you all the best!

Creating the first Unveiling of "Fall"

So tonight I performed "Fall" at the Lionheart Theatre for the first time.

I think it went pretty well and I had some good feedback.

I'm doing my best to get the video loaded but it's taking a bit so it may be tomorrow before it happens....I know what a tease!

***Breaking News**** Joe is a hero and got it to upload!!!!

I'm so thankful that my friend Liz encouraged me to go for it tonight - even though I didn't have the poem completely memorized.

I'm grateful for my friend Ellen who had tea and listened to a read through this afternoon.

I'm so thankful my friend Eric and Shelly came out to bear witness and give terrific support.

and of course I'm thankful for Joe.  Who was sitting in the front row cheering me on  and tearing up a bit.

Alex was also in the audience tonight and I got a "good job" mom after it was over.

It was a little intimidating since the "house" was packed but I'm so glad that I did it!!!

Now to finish memorizing the sucker so I can go to Decatur and perform it for Ruth and Tony :)

Goodnight all,

Christine

Creating a new craft out of great memories

Today as been an incredibly busy, emotional and productive day.

Started it out with my yoga practice and gratitudes.

Said goodbye to my friend Bridget as she headed back to New York :(

Had a terrific Skype Interplay Session with Ruth!

Went to Zumba at the Y with Joe where we danced, sweated and laughed :)

Attended an inspiring memorial service for a friend's brother.
The words that I came away with that are wanting to be captured in an upcoming piece of art are:  We are INVITED on a JOURNEY, we have CHALLENGES and then we have GRACE.

One of the calendar pages I started with
Finished out the night at a good friend's house chatting and creating a new (to me) craft.  I've shown the process below through pictures!
Cut out circles from an old calendar and Holiday cards

Then bent the 20 circles into triangles
Here is the pattern for the triangle

Started with 5 made two "endcaps" and then a string of 10 to make the middle

Used 2 way glue and clothes pins to connect

Here I am with 2 of the finished projects :)

Thanks Shelly for a fun and creative project and for a delightful evening of chatting!!!

Creating 2014

Happy New Year!!!!

It's been a great start to the New Year for the Gautreaux Family!

We welcomed in the New Year at our dear friend's house last night.  We played games had some great yummy food and laughed and hugged and gave gratitude for 2013.

Today we slept in a bit :)

Had more yummy food (check out this terrific recipe by Paleo Mom - shrimp-tilapia-and-cabbage-curry)
and some terrific greens fresh out of Ellen & Tom's Garden!!!

Snuggling with my honey while we worked on our goals/dreams
We worked on/played with our Unraveling the New Year 25 page reflection and manifesting workbook.lets-make-some-magic-in-2014

Chatted with good friends, texted more and played on facebook.

And we ended the day out by the fire pit soaking in the beauty of nature and the sound of silence.

The beautiful fire Joe made tonight

Wishing you and yours all the best for 2014 and beyond.

Breathing Deeply and giving gratitude for my amazing life,

Christine
