This morning I found myself awake at 4am after I heard a banging noise. The night before I was up with the 12 year old who was having trouble at 3 am so I jumped up to go check it out and see what was going on.
Everyone was asleep, including the cats and dog, and after investigating the whole house I determined the fan was causing a picture to bang against the wall making a thumping noise. Random!
I crawled back in bed wanting to get in a couple more hours of sleep and immediately realized this had been one of "those" wake up calls.
Do you know what I mean?

For me they are the unexplained noises or the knocking I sometimes hear in my dreams that wake me up and call me to action.
This morning I felt the tug.
I'm prepping for my upcoming women's retreat so I used the extra two hours to gather supplies, meditate on the "plan" and clean up around my home and fill it with love before I take off for the weekend.
Most of the time when these wake up calls occur I remember to stop and ask, "What are you asking? How can I serve you today God."

I am grateful for the extra time that I was given this morning.
Have you ever gotten the "call" in the middle of the night to create? How did you answer it?

Wrapping you around with infinite love and sunrise prayers,

I'm getting distant memories from the time before kids when I was getting the calls. I even used to have a notebook and a pen next to my bed for those occasions. Now sleep is just too precious.
ReplyDeleteI get that Tat! Mine are now 12 & 16 and I usually get great sleep so when the call comes I am in a good place to answer :)
DeleteOh Christine! I love how you turned the "knocking in the night" to a blessing. How wonderful to fill the house with love and to leave us this message of your way of being in the world.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Ruth!!! Thanks for reading this early post :) Talk to you soon!
DeleteWhat should wonderful morning you had! An opportunity to prepare and to quietly reflect is always a win-win.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I thought too Michele!
DeleteI am so impressed that you are able to stay up! Yes, I have had those 'calls' from time to time so I do one of two things.
ReplyDelete1) write down the important thought on notepad I keep next to the bed ( then try to figure out what it says when I wake up!)
2) get up and meditate for an hour (but then I usually need a nap later or I am dragging)
I enjoyed your post. It's very impressive how productive you are so early...
Thanks Elda and you are right on target with #2 - just got up from a "nap" that had to happen ;)
